Tumlin Roero DOCG 2016
Red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo from the most ancient organic vineyards of the Povero family, which extend over a hill of Roero, where the geological and climatic conditions are the most suitable for a very sensitive vine such as Nebbiolo. In 1303, we have already the first references to Nebbiolo (Roero), an important and regal red, which reminds of the towers dotting the Roero hills.
After 18 months in Piedmontese tonneaux of Slavonian oak, it shows a beautiful bright garnet red. The delicately fragrant bouquet becomes ethereal over time. On the palate, you first recognize intense floral and fruity notes of dried roses, violets, raspberry, blackberry, citrus, and almond. On a second sip, you can perceive spicy hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, tobacco, and lightly toasted hints. It becomes earthier, over time, showing hints of dry leaves, resin, bark, and berries, with a balsamic whiff. The palate is persuasive, soft, and harmonious. The finish is persistent, with spiciness and light sapidity. The tannins are dense and velvety, well-integrated into the structure.
