Description

From the 14th to the 19th century, Asti, the most important town of Monferrato, hosted the Palio, a famous horse competition. “Paggio” was the jockey responsible for the health of the war horse in times away from battle.

The name Grignolino derives from the Piedmontese word “grignòle”, standing for the many seeds that you can find in Grignolino grapes.

The color is a bright light ruby red and the aromas are delicate and elegant. Fruity and spicy aromas, including blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, sage, white pepper, and clove stand out. The palate is pleasantly dry, with harmonious tannins and an almond finish.

Pair with:

Soups, omelettes, white meats, main curses with mushrooms
