A rich, bold, and big Barbera, far from the young and vibrant typical Barbera d' Asti. In the local dialect, "Pensé" means "thinking". Pensé is indeed an unusual and very complex meditation wine, to drink by itself after dinner by the fireplace, to stimulate creativity or reflect on what is important in our life. The bouquet is complex, with notes of red fruit jam, cherries in alcohol, green tea, spices, and licorice.
Uncertainty has been a constant in this 2020 from all points of view - including the climate! However, great satisfaction came from this harvest! Spring was characterized by sunny days and warm temperatures, which caused the vines to sprout about a week earlier compared to 2019. Thanks to a warm early summer, this advance in maturation continued until mid-July, when veraison took place, the moment in which the grapes turn from green to yellow or bright red. The rains in August caused the loss of this slight precocity in the vegetative cycle, leading to regular ripening. The unscrupulous sunshine and warm mid-September temperatures have been a godsend, giving us voluminous, healthy, and rich bunches. Potential alcohol is in line with 2019, while the acidity is averagely lower. Wines promise to be complex, balanced, and full of aromas!

In 2015, one of the best vintages ever in Piedmont, Alessio had the idea of another blend to go with Cabanè Langhe Rosso (produced by Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, and Nebbiolo). Thinking of a warmer wine than Cabanè, with softer tannins, Alessio decided to replace Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah and came up with Sibanè. The rustic Piedmontese origins of Sibané are proudly showcased by Barbera and Nebbiolo, while the more cosmopolitan and ruffian personality is the result of Syrah. Sibané is a complex, enveloping, and full-bodied wine with high, but well-balanced, alcohol content. The color is an intense ruby red with violet reflections. Spicy and fruity notes stand out, in particular plum, black pepper, and black currant.
We are happy to release the new vintage of our fabolous Barbera d’ Alba Garavagna!
The warm weather of 2016 gave to our Barbera an excellent sugar level, balanced by the great acidity, typical of Barbera. Hot temperatures in the last weeks of september were crucial for the elements responsible of the structure such as phenolic components. This Barbera d’ Alba has an outstanding structure and a bouquet with an amazing spiciness with notes of nutmeg and incense.

SILVER MEDAL DECANTER 2018 for CABANE' LANGHE ROSSO DOC (91 pt)
The 2017 vintage growing year, hot and dry, will be remembered for its full-bodied, long-lasting and intense wines.
The winter was mild, with only a few snowfalls, while spring was marked by some rain and above-average temperatures. This further facilitated the vine’s vegetative development, which was ahead of time. Towards the end of April, the sharp drop in temperatures recorded - especially overnight - throughout Italy caused some frost damage.
The maximum temperatures recorded during the summer months were above average, just as they were in the whole of Italy, but the nights were cooler than in other hot years.
Between the end of August and the beginning of September, thanks to the first rainfalls, temperatures dropped appreciably, with considerable differences between day and night temperatures. This situation was very positive for the polyphenolic profile of the red wine grapes with a medium-long vegetative cycle, such as Nebbiolo and Barbera.
The good maturation leaded to high alcohol content, a good Ph level and low total acidity.
The harvest started 2 weeks earlier, with a standard duration and a lower yield (about – 30%).
