Cantine Povero stands out on the generous lands of Roero, Monferrato, and Langhe. Our philosophy is to carry on the ancient wisdom handed down generation to generation, while innovating a sustainable approach to agriculture.

Cantine Povero offers a wide range of wines, produced from excellent and diverse terroirs. Our portfolio includes fragrant and elegant wines from Roero, fresh and fruity wines from Monferrato, and structured, age-worthy wines from Langhe. Sparkling wines, dessert wines, and grappa close the loop.

Our History

To savor a good wine, you need to know its history. Behind Cantine Povero lies the enthusiasm of Grandpa Tumlin, his emotional bond with the land, and his patient industriousness. Our history started long ago and we want to produce wine for many years into the future. This means that sustainability is key, which drives our focus on innovation.

Organic farming

“We practice organic farming to cultivate authenticity.” 1998 was a crucial year for Cantine Povero, as we decided to adopt organic farming, starting from the vineyard of Santa Lucrezia Cisterna d’Asti DOC. In 2019, we obtained organic certification for all 50 hectares of our vineyards.

Nature’s Balance

On about 100 hectares of land, 50 are planted with vineyards, 20 with arable land, and 30 covered by woods. We preserve woodlands to safeguard biodiversity in our ecosystems and ensure habitat for local flora and fauna.
